I was born in Hawaii and studied abroad for many years. I am now studying in Japan and planning to start a business to help foreigners learn how to communicate in Japanese. I love Japan the most because of the food, culture, and nature. Japan is so unique and because I am Japanese, I want many to know what it’s like to spend the time in Japan.
Many foreign visitors, like my friends, feel unnecessarily afraid to communicate in Japanese. I understand the fear, but I think it is just a misunderstanding. If you can confidently say what you want, I am sure many Japanese will understand and try to communicate with you. The reason why I wanted to start this business is that many of my foreign friends when they visit Japan face problems, especially language. They struggle to read the menu, order what they want, and which trains to take to arrive at their destinations. They use google translate to communicate but oftentimes, it is time consuming and difficult to do so. Many of my friends told me that I am glad to have natives to explore Japan. I want many foreign visitors to feel more comfortable traveling and experience the amazing moments in Japan.
As I mentioned above, I love food in Japan. My favorite food in Japan is Udon Noodle. It is a thick noodle and very chewy. I love to eat Udon with Tempura which is fried vegetables or seafood. My favorite place to eat Udon is house made Udon in Fukushima. I also love Sushi and I eat sushi once a week. I love Japan as I can eat both great quality meat and fresh seafood at a very reasonable price. There are many great restaurants as well that you can eat a variety of amazing cuisines. It is one of the favorite things for me to go out with friends to eat together to find amazing restaurants to eat.
I believe that continuous lessons with even a small amount of time will let you become fluent in Japanese communication. I hope that our contribution to education in Japanese will expand more to be interested in traveling to Japan to see more of the new world.
